Moto E7 Plus Launched in India at ₹9499

Moto E7 Plus Launched in India at ₹9499   - First Sale On 30th September

Last year Motorola had launched it's budget offering that is Moto E6s. It was offering 4 Gigabytes of Ram and 64 Gigabytes of Storage, Almost Stock Android 9 Pie with little optimizations and features here and there, so what Motorola provided previous year was decent for the price of ₹6999 (prices may vary from time to time)  but the processor used (Mediatek Helio P22) was not upto the mark, the lack of motorola features like twist the wrist to launch camera app and Moto Display, Motorola Camera App were missing. However, Google's Peak Display was there in the Display Settings which showed time, battery percentage and notifications. Double press the power button to launch either the Google Assistant or Camera App was there under gestures options, I can say that the software was really close to the stock build of Android 9 Pie, apart from apps offered by Motorola like the Camera App (similar to what you can find on Moto G8 Power Light). But the Moto E6s was the step in the right direction and now Motorola is improving the e series further to make it even more dashing with it's new successor in the Moto E Family & that is the new Moto E7 Plus as far as the specifications are concerned.

The Moto E7 Plus is powered with Snapdragon 460 processor that comes with Adreno 610 GPU (same GPU present in the Snapdragon 665). It comes with 6.5 inch HD+ Display (720p display). This phone is running on the Android 10 update (with Motorola's subtle but important tweaks to the software and some good optimization kinda expected) to the stock build offered by Google itself. This smartphone comes with 4 gigabytes of RAM & 64 gigabytes of storage. Motorola is advertising this phone as a camera centric smartphone and highlighting it's dual rear facing camera (48 megapixels main censor f/1.7 with Night Vision and 2 megapixels depth censor) and an eight megapixels front facing camera, massive 5000 mAh battery is also present in this smartphone. It comes in two colours - Misty Blue & Twilight Orange both have a gradient and a matte finish given to the smartphone. It has water repellent design. This smartphone have a hybrid sim card solution that means you can either insert two sim cards or one sim card and a micro sd card. This phone has a micro usb port & a 10 Watt charger comes along with the smartphone.

So overall it looks like Motorola is now serious about it's low budget offering after looking at all of these specifications. It looks like from it's features that this phone is a huge step up compared with the previous gen Moto E. Almost all the important features are present in this smartphone (like Moto Display, Double Chop to turn on the flashlight, etc.) but looks like twist to wrist to launch the camera is missing from this one, similar features we can find on the bigger brothers of this phone like Moto One Macro, Moto G8 Plus etc.

It will be interesting to see how it will perform in real life. But here's one thing I forgot to mention & that is - Motorola is not that serious about providing fast updates to it's smartphones and it generally does not provide even one major update for the Moto E Series, I don't know if they're going to provide Android 11 Update to this Moto e7 Plus. For example, Moto G8 Plus has still haven't received Android 10 Update in India but according to the sources it looks like they're starting to push Android 10 Update for Moto G8 Plus in Brazil.

So Moto E7 Plus can now definitely be able compete with similar offerings of the other brands. It looks like a good smartphone for the price.
